Langport Visitor’s Guide

Although Langport is a small town, you will be surprised at the number of things to do and the places of interest you can visit when you’re in town. From scenic walks to quaint little independent shops, there is something for everyone. Below you will find more details and links to all the wonderful things the town has to offer.

Vineyard and Cider Farm Tour

smith-and-evans-wineJust a short distance away from the centre of Langport is Higher Plot Farm, home to the award winning English wine, Smith & Evans. The first harvest was in 2010, although the terraced hill giving life to the vines is at least 300 years old. Once a sprawling cider farm, the vineyards now produce some of the finest Burgundian Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier grapes which give rise to the best sparkling wines this side of the Channel.

Depending on theseason, tours and nibbles are available for small groups. Call ahead to speak to Guy or Laura on 01458 259075.

Visits to the vineyard are by prior arrangement so do call ahead or send an email to

Check out their website to learn more about the farm or to order a bottle or two of their wines here
